film review: where the wild things are

Question: What does it say about a movie that it is about childhood, stars a child, but isn't the sort of movie children should watch?

The cinematography of this movie was impressive, no doubt, but it seemed to be missing something; maybe it was just too low energy from beginning to end (or at least after the first ten minutes)

Thanks for the comment, Samantha. I quite agree. It moved at a rather slow pace, which would have been fine if it had culminated in something meaningful instead of vague and abrupt.
